Having previously worked within the IT sector for three years in a variety of roles from help desk to system administration of Windows/Linux systems, I have decided to move to the cyber security field after realising my passion and interest for information security. Currently studying BSc(Hons) Ethical Hacking at Abertay University with the aim of achieving first class honours and starting a career as a penetration tester.
In addition to my technical skills, I have a extensive passion for public service and volunteering where I have volunteered as an Event First Aider/Ambulance Crew with the British Red Cross and then subsequently as a Firefighter/EMT-B in the United States of America where I received an award for “Outstanding Commitment and Dedication” and responded to a variety of emergencies such as structural house fires/vehicle fire’s, water rescue incidents, motor vehicle accidents and ambulance calls. This enabled me to improve dealing with clients (public), working under pressure in dangerous environments and thinking on my feet/outside of the box, which can be transferred into other roles such as information security.
